Cafu: Brazil legend’s son Danilo dies during football match

Danilo was the eldest of Cafu’s three sons

Danilo Feliciano de Moraes has died after suffering a heart attack while playing football with friends on Wednesday.

Danilo, 30, was the son of former Brazil full-back Cafu. Danilo reportedly complained of feeling unwell shortly after the match started and was subsequently transported to the Albert Einstein Hospital, Sao Paulo.

Cafu won the World Cup with Brazil in 1994 and 2002

Danilo’s death was later confirmed by friends of Cafu and many of the Brazilian player’s former clubs have paid tribute to Danilo on social media.

Brazilian club Sao Paulo wrote, “Sao Paulo Football Club deeply regrets the death of Danilo, son of Cafu. The club sympathises and wishes the tri-colour idol and his family and friends strength.”
