Australia’s veteran midfielder and captain, Mark Milligan, has played his last game for Hibernian after agreeing to leave at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old midfielder spent a single season at the Edinburgh club, making a total of 28 appearances.
Milligan originally signed a two-year contract with Hibs but head coach Paul Heckingbottom opted to trigger an early termination clause in his contract.
Despite only playing a single season for the club, Milligan’s time at Hibs will be thought of reasonably fondly by fans and staff. The midfielder was a regular fixture of a Hibs side that finished 5th in the Scottish Premier League.
“His experience and versatility has been important and Mark’s been a great influence on our younger players in particular.” Said Hibs manager Paul Heckingbottom.
Milligan’s next move is still unconfirmed with speculation mounting that he will return to Australia’s A-League.
