Barcelona legend, Xavi Hernandez has been officially appointed manager of Al Sadd SC.
Xavi isn’t a newcomer to the Qatar Stars League, having spent the last four years playing for the club he will now manage.
The former midfielder is well-known for his outstanding performances for Barcelona and Spain, having won numerous titles over his 22 year playing career.
Xavi will be hoping to add more honours to his collection and has assembled an experienced backroom staff to help him achieve the Qatari club’s objectives.
Joining Xavi at the club will be Sergio Oriol, Ivan Torres, Oscar Hernandez, Jose Manuel, David Barts, Antonio Lobo, Sergio Garcia and Antonio Troula.
Al Sadd will kick off their pre-season tour in their manager’s native Spain with a match against Girona on 14 July.
