Riyad Mahrez was the star of the show as his late free-kick secured victory for Algeria over Nigeria and sent the North African side through to the final.
The match was heading for extra-time before Mahrez crashed home a stunning set-piece in the 5th minute of injury time.
Algeria will face Senegal in the final after they beat Tunisia in the other semi-final match, with an equally dramatic extra-time goal of their own.
Algeria had originally taken the lead against Nigeria through a William Troost-Ekong own goal. The Super Eagles then equalised through Odion Ighalo’s 72nd-minute penalty.
Algeria played well throughout the match and arguably deserved the victory on balance of play.
Nigeria’s equaliser came after a VAR review adjudged Aissa Mandi to have illegally handled Peter Etebo’s shot. The penalty conversion is only the second goal Algeria have conceded all tournament.
Algeria will be feeling confident of a second Afcon title ahead of their final clash with a dogged Senegalese side on Friday.
